prologue 0.21
To say isn’t the one that is like the book livre. The dire says it and the lire reads it. The parler speaks it and the raconteur tells it.
The statute of limitations have expired. Aller ou partir.
Then rire.
chapter 1.21
The ticket was on the sidewalk. The terms and conditions were face up and i could see the fine print. There was a Y on it and it had a square border. The number read 134661. I gave her the ticket and told her I found it. The doors to the ambulance police car fire truck bay were closed when I handed it over.

The grounding wire was 12 gauge and bare copper. There was a loose ground on the grid and 14 street lights were out because of it. She was a night time gum-chewer and it bothered them. She chewed gum in the late night.
Evie was there the day they rolled the blueprints out for biocontainment on the table. He was wearing a 4-piece suit and she liked his jacket. Brynn liked the jacket too. It was houndstooth burgundy plaid and tightly woven tweed with a modern, overcoat fit. The suit itself was bespoke and the jacket proper was 10 oz wear weight with burgundy silk interfacing. Single-breasted with 3 buttons closed. A notched lapel with a buttonhole on the left side. There were flap pockets and sleeve cuffs with 3 buttons apiece. He wore a matching waistcoat and straight-legged, flat-fronted trousers with stand width turned-up pant cuffs. His coffee-colored brown socks were mid-calf in height. His dress shoes were matte burnish and laced up through 8 eyelets. His long-sleeve shirt was floral print but confusingly paisley to those who didn’t know him that well. His tie matched the interfacing.
The title sheet of the 14-page full screen blueprint was prefaced with the following comment: “The risk-based biosafety management program, standardized to biosafety lab 6 BSL-6, prevents exposure to the infection or toxin that exists in the containment zone, with special care and consideration given to human and aquatic and amphibious and terrestrial animal pathogens and radioactive decay products.”

The engineering firm was called CABG Engineering Ltd. The D.O.T. company employed D.O.T. workers and they oversaw the Directly Observed Therapy. D.O.T. therapy minimized the missed doses. The D.O.T. company was called B.T. Holdings Ltd. They had a policy manual that was evidence-based and scientifically sound, they purported. The highlighted excerpt read: “Since substance abuse is a known risk factor for low adherence to directive, then random-in-the-quarter quarterly urinalysis drug testing is mandated for all subject patients. A failed drug test means roll-over into the D.O.T. program for careful watch-eye during the swallow shot.” The Patients Brokerage Firm was called Patient Brokers Inc. It was the job of the patient broker to recruit. Those recruited would become patients inside insurable facilities that were labelled and advertised as treatment centers for substance abuse and substance use disorder with tout and reverence referable to in-patient behavioral shock therapy and medical billing authorization code. The patient broker did this in exchange for a finders fee like trafficking top doll. The flow-through was from license holder to brokerage as payee.
His mother was an enabler. He was enpanelled as her co-dependent. She liked to serve undercooked butter tarts and meatball-shy minestrone soup at Thanksgiving dinner. The house he grew up in had a sunroom porch falling off the side foundation of the exterior wall addition. We found this out, how much work it was going it be, while loading the Easter-time dishwasher. There was a squeegee in the downstairs bathroom shower stall and the homeowners would point their heads toward it emphatically when giving visitors a tour of the basement. She had a dog named “Ody” before she met him. She had a dog named Ody for 1 year and 8 months after he was through with him. He wished he had a diesel-powered car to do the job right. He tied the dog’s leash around the well head box enclosure that was 18.91 feet from the edge of the property line behind the garage. He was at the house. She was at work in the office where the door said Health Department on it. He started the car and revved the engine in neutral to 9107 rpm. He scrolled through his burned mp3 player of tunes to find the song about roses. He lowered the rpm to 8102 and then to 8101 and it slipped ground into 1st gear with him trying harding and he let his foot of the brake pedal enough for the intentional degloving and mandibular fraction to get a move on it. He called her sobbing crying bawl on the landline work phone in the Health Department office to say that Ody had been in an accident. He lied and said the dog got out of the kennel enclosure and got into traffic and had been hit by a driving by sewage hauling septic truck on the packed gravel road oval. He was now enroute driving her dog Ody in for emergency care 41 minutes out and away. She found out the truth 9 years and 81 days later. He posted dash cam footage and overhead wire camera angle on the back end of the lumber yard and sales website and circulated the link around. Nine years and 85 days later, she found his 17 year old truant mistress hiding in the closet off the master bedroom. The nidus impetus for the sudden rageful brazen behavior of the ex-quotient factor was a few-fold. There were 9 poor investment decisions made by a group of 18 “collective” decision makers that had no business being head of big business capital. The year is approximately 2018 when we are talking about the 9 years of learning added back in to her know-it. In the year 2017, there were 9 big cap stocks on the publicly traded credible lettered exchange stock market listed with a sell price of over $800 a share. There were 4 accounts that were closed when loans secured by share-holder back were called. The divisor made a certain suspect instrument with average of $1400 fall to $198 and then to $0. The loss on the balance sheet and income statement turned negative EBITDA was $2.9 million U.S. dollars for the company retained earnings class. Risk taking behavior was seen as a go-to coping mechanism by the losing business men and they took it out on her. “Flagrant disregard and wildly exaggerated hand mover and people feeling don’t matte” was what the men also added to the couple, as he called it. Selt-torment was brewing inside the humbled business men and their overcompensation could be felt from within their box of vanilla pudding powder.
Poppy Elle had been a cop for 14 years and D.E.A. for 4. She liked to wear her bathtub stopper chain link police shield necklace whenever asked to speak from behind closed doors.
The name of the law firm is Rain, Jennings, Vanzetti & Zelaya.
The descriptive title of of the winning video was “amapiano dance challenge 2025.”
Evie raised her hand as she sat in the 2nd row of the lecture hall classroom. “I have 2 questions, please:
- On the x-ray we are being shown, Is the widening of the pancreatic-duodenal angle on the A/P view consistent with a diagnosis of pancreatitis in this patient?
- What is the difference between Type II Mobitz, 2nd Degree A-V heart block and “regular” Type II, 2nd Degree A-V block on an ECG trace and which one is it that you are showing us now?”
Evie and Jenny sat down at their joined-at-the-L desks and they read the letter that was submitted to the editor for consideration as letter to the editor material for the newspaper’s printed page.
“The reporting in the news story e-edition newspaper says drink more orange juice = less bioavailable / decreased AUC / enhanced metabolism / excretion of methadone / more dilute methadone. Who says so? Where did you dream this up and why?
Why would you want to dilute something you’re giving as a pill? Why not just give a lower dose pill? Why would you take a 400 mg pill and say I better take it with 250 mL of orange juice to dilute it out so it’s less potent. Why not take a 200 mg pill in tab format?
An agonist in pharmacology is something like a chemical drug that binds and works at a receptor and has activity there like an effect and change to cause the same or similar type of thing maybe even more as what binds it originally and think of the opposite and what it means if someone antagonizes and turns you off and away. Methadone is an opioid receptor agonist and it has nothing in common with crystal meth / methamphetamine. Naloxone is an opioid receptor antagonist. Suboxone is a combination drug that combines buprenorphine and this is a partial mu opioid receptor agonist drug where the “p” reminds us of the partial activity and naloxone together. None of these is the drug called butorphanol which does “t for 2” things and that is a mu opioid receptor antagonist and a kappa opioid receptor agonist and orange juice mixed with an oat’s almond milk is never a gateway beverage. And what do you call it when a patient person goes to the hospital to have a day procedure done like a bronchoalveolar lavage or colonoscopy for example and they are given premed like hydromorphone under physician order and observation and then they are discharged to go home after recovery from the procedure of BAL / colonoscopy like they are alert and awake and lucid and there was one dose of opioid med given to accomplish the diagnostic test start to finish and isn’t this also “opioid agonist therapy” in these cases and none of the words opioid or agonist or therapy intrinsically means addiction addict or detox and if you think it does or if you think this is a battle of words and wits then we will see how YOU do after we send you for 7 days of BETA BLOCKER THERAPY and we either give you your propranolol beta blocker or we don’t….whoops….I meant to say Beta Receptor Blocker or Beta Receptor Antagonist. Good morning epinephrine is an agonist halt anaphylaxis. Good evening insulin an agonist too saving GLUT-4 glucose transporter. The signs on the swinging saloon doors at the saloon say either Epinephrine Agonist Therapy or Sympathomimicry and Hormone Agonist Treatment either way.
Grapefruit juice and statins and amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) is where the evidence is NOT methadone and orange juice and how did they invent this -1.0 R value of inverse linear regression between orange juice and methadone blood concentrations (“dilution”)????
People don’t understand detox / methadone / suboxone / it should not be called OPIOID AGONIST THERAPY it should be called ALTERNATIVE TO the ILLICIT ILLEGAL BAD STREET DRUG KIND OF OPIOIDS AGONIST THERAPY INSTEAD WHERE RISK of Overdose could happen on the street and uncontrolled “street drug” constituent parts like we don’t know where the drugs were made and what was thrown in the vat and also some people are addicted to drugs and might not want to be addicted to drugs so we can help with detox and controlled COME DOWN / STEP down to get OFF them but you can’t just let a STREET drug that has been taken by a person injected or snorted taken by mouth and absorbed so the drug is in the blood stream and then bound to a receptor in the brain usually and other places like liver and kidney where it is having a “desirable effect” from the perspective of the person who took the drug like maybe euphoria or gleeful happiness or delusions some or an escape and as the illegal drug is metabolized by the body of the person who took the bad drug then the euphoria goes away but rapid removal of the drug bound to the receptor causes side effects called withdrawal and this means the illegal drug is not in the blood to replace what was on the receptor before and this may include extrapyramidal signs like tremors, nausea, vomiting, sadness, etc. and to state again so maybe something like dopamine or noradrenaline that is needed like making production of a neurotransmt NT when someone takes bad drugs and maybe there was less NT dopamine to begin with and maybe that’s why na person wanted to do drugs in the first place and then the bad streets come and bind in the agonist way and people feel better at least a bit to start with and then if we say all the bad street drugs have to go away all at once and the regular thing that was binding to the receptor is downregulator produced because the body has something there even temporarily in its place like feedback loop maybe then when the street drugs go away there’s nothing there and this is withdrawal and So we give people methadone which is a safer alternative to the street drugs and the methadone that is taken binds to the receptor that the illegal drug was bound to a little bit less and a little bit less in a controlled way and we have more assurance that methadone which comes from the pharmacy wasn’t made in drum barrels in the underground man hole in the depths of minnesota so there’s more quality control so less things like LEAD heavy metals and chromium which cause neurological more like symptoms that people would rather do without but it’s mixed in already illegALLy illicitly with the things that bind the opioid receptors in the first place. – Love, Poppy Elle Apgar Vanzetti”
They sat down on 1 of 2 couches, love seat sofa, or wing chairx2 option. The setting was a skate park dialed in 164 bit retina display with a half-pipe and rail in the viewer. The video game was her favorite one with the controller and the player could do skateboarding moves for 1 turn or more.
They spoke about foreign nationals and immigration policy and the Balkan states of Croatia and Serbia and Bosnia and South Africa and the anti-anti-apartheidists and they gave and shared a list of names of the people who liked to start websites that talked about Schengen Visa application and the establishment distributed an email with a lyric sheet attachment that clearly spelled out the words of our e-i national anthem.
She walked by the man and he was sitting on the boulevard across the street from the pawn shop and the no-right turn on red lampost and he was asking for spare change anything helps. The grape-like VOC clusters of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were specter fuming on his breath.
chapter 1.21
They sat in rows, cross-legged as she read to them the story about the time the dog went to see the vet. Befell warning issued to “keep up the good work.” Answer given to question from the field soon after. “Hockey” was her reply.
He had had a migraine all weekend, but felt better today. My dad told me the news while I was at work. The 8-year old FS family pixie chihuahua had been sick the past few days too. She was lethargic and painful and on cage rest. I said that it would be best to have her humanely euthanized in East St. Paul. She had a great life. The best life. My dad said I could see the dog beforehand. I told him I had said my goodbye already and ago. I didn’t need to see her again. My blessing given for him to drop her off at the animal clinic at his will and directive. They would earn a last $481 needle insertion and push fee easily and without fight from me. In absentia.

“Hey. How’s the truck doing?
I hear you the truck was able to be fixed after all after you told me it was unfixable calamity coolant system catastrophe $7000 to chop shop so you fix it real nice for resale
and remember that whining complaining complainant COI boss-spitzing snake oil multi-level marketing sales team that sold the trucks and signed and printed their name in the sold buy section at the bottom of the bill of the sale all in hopes of later repo for buy-back plus cost and their schimmy economic stimulus package for the mechanics and hotel owners who videotaped window smash suitcase stealer plate for profit too.”
They observed and over-watched the I.O.L.S.A. hazing chant and walker shuffle step. Those in the hazing line shuffled their feet forward while repeating the sung chant mantra and inserting the yell quip roustabout phrase where they were supposed to in the chorus or the verse. They shuffled forward with a cloven clog step one foot at a time and in single file line and with their hands on the shoulders of the person in front of them. Their heads were draped with fabric cloth and they were told to and knew to look down so they could see the floor and keep the flower going.
“I’ll see you all about 2 4 7 months from now on September 2nd November 4th February 24th, 2026, she said to the cheering crowd. Those in attendance were all a little too popo-friendly for her liking, she soon realized. There were no popo-friendlies in the underground black market. She also reminded them that she wasn’t in charge of their meeting. “Free”. Poppy Elle made the speechless exclamation as she was being shoo shuffled onto the prison bus.
The win was so profound. She championed the proceedings. Jenny was a republican viewpointer. She identified herself as a journalist and the audio file record and transcript were uploaded to the website and made public and tagged up same day and nothing was ‘gotten rd of. “I’ll never go back. Those are ‘dem liars that don’t save careers. They consider truth ‘tr as be’ng caught off grd. I won’t give them a chance to stor’y straigh’t lie. The escrow account had no minimum balance and the statement showed “$.00 even.” The account was open and active through the past 90 days. The transactional history showed return by disbursement. The original sources of funding received back the now inconsequential amounts. The distributed rebate was void of power leverage. $4,907 x 29 is much different than $142,303.
I liked her face like ripstop. I liked her face like stickers.
chapter 1.21
The bathroom was recently renovated. The shower stall had a handle that turned to the right to turn on the water. If I looked through the clear glass above the frosted glass i could see the television screen for the alarm panel on the wall for the security system and who was at the door like biometrics The tile color was brown beige and 12″ by 12″ like textured nitrile. I saw one of them by the faucet. Clean hands are never dry enough for anything except powdered latex. She wrote it on the mirror.
The bathroom light was on and Light came in from the side. This true irony phenomenon was known to reduce the efficacy of eavesdropping and overhear listening devices like laser microphones and this was because the sound vibrations from the ambient light caused acoustic interference with the laser signal. Light rendered the intruder unconscious.
She was sitting on either a lawn chair or a stool or a director’s chair. She was outside the church and she was stapling papers together and then putting them in a pile on the grass. She was next to the door to the church that you could go in sometimes and it was the one where there was a cube truck that had it’s loading door closest to the church and the steering wheel end closest to the street. On one side of the truck there was FRP and a logo for the food bank. There was at least one box that changed hands but the changed hands weren’t mine or hers and a list and a clipboard. I said “Hi” and she said “Hello” back.
She wore a muted green and khaki-colored head wrap brunette and a black halter crop top and black, grey, and white tie-dyed bicycle shorts. She was looking for an address and listening to GPS instructions in the 100 block of Maryland. Her blonde counterpart was in a white tank top blouse and jean shorts and ankle-high camel-colored boots with white crew socks folded over the darker brown leather high top. She carried a cross-body handbag in a color that matched her boots. A blue sweater was draped over her purse. She heard me say the name “Evie” a few minutes after I said it. I was walking home from the #28 stop. She turned her head to look back at me as she walked and I noticed her green tinted 70’s style sunglasses when she smiled. Wavy borderline crimped, and just passed her shoulders. Dreadlocks.
She was 5’11” and she had long straight almost-black hair. She wore a blue off-the-one-shoulder sweatshirt and black hotpants. She stumbled with a footsteps worth of intention on the unevent cement stage pad across from my apartment building. In the 600 block, there was a real-estate sign with a creaking hinge and the bubble signed portrait boasted rent available for $4150.
“Quentin. 1:00 o’clock.”
The bottle for the artificially-flavored Cobalt-57 infused beverage had a label on it that read “fruit punch soda.” An animated squirrel and a cartoon pigeon characterized the outside of the drink carton. “From powdered crystals and purified reverse osmosis (R.O.) lake water. Fortified to contain iron, cranberry, and trace amounts of heart-healthy thiamine” brandished the slogan. “Vitamin B12-Co58-Cyanocobalamin tab%dailyvalue = 41%. Stir frequently to prevent settling of cobalt (II) chloride hexahydrate. Shake before serving to stop discoloration of the glass”, read Carmine, before shelving the product on aisle 19 of the evidence locker.
He handed her 4 x $20 denomination taxi cab gift cards and she paid him $80. The owner of the taxi company printed out a receipt for the purchase. He circled proof of activation and authorization code in blue ink pen. The numbers were listed near the bottom of the register tape. She thanked him as she opened and then closed the door, quietly, to the dispatch office. “See you tomorrow, Evie”, he mouthed the words from behind the desk. She smiled as she looked back through the glass of the window-paned door. The engine turned over and down the gravel drive she drove. Out of the parking lot, a right turn and then a left one, to the freeway on ramp. The time is 9:07 p.m. local time.
“What do you drive, Beatrice?” Poppy Elle said to Bea. “Like the car, make and model.”
Madison. 18. 718-2950.
There were 13,202 people at the rally and the green space in front of the court house was adorned with muted marigolds. Jenny usually carried the banner that read “I Love Horses.” Today, in addition, fellow members of the Software Developers Fan Club also held up brightly colored pieces of bristol board so wordly. “Advocates for a Universal Archive Icon.”
Evie made a few inflammatory comments. Jenny made a few more. Poppy Elle laughed. The people in attendance on-at their video chat conference call became known thereafter as the huffers and the chuffers and the spewers. The audience members seemed significantly more angry than they had ever been in the past. Evie reconnected the resume. “I saw a black cat yesterday and I call him Blackie. I asked for a homonym for school and it sounded like they said academy. She was told to go to her trailer and not come out until she looked pretty. This was said while the venturist was dry firing and while the denturist was dry filing.”
chapter 1.21
It resembled the Everglades or the Assiniboine Forest in late April. The silver smooth-leafed elm variegata was in the front yard of the house with the pink stucco siding. The leaves were west facing and wind-blown from the SSE. The time was 7:04 a.m. The sun was to my back. The shadow was 1:1.292. ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ
There was a man. He was the husband of the owner of the Chinese food restaurant served buffet style. He was in charge of rice duty most days of the week. His affliction was degeneration of the macula. He lived in fear of blindness every day that rice was cooking on the stove.
There was a lady with a heavier-than-she-could-carry suitcase on roller casters. She was friendly and wore her hair in a ponytail. Our once-an-hour ride opportunity was due at the stop any minute. She asked about the new routing system and if she would be able to get to her home behind the old, decommissioned army base. I said that I thought it would get her within walking distance of Grant, Taylor, and Jennings. When the ride arrived, she asked the attendant if the motorized, fold-out ramp was available for wheel-up reasons. The bag was too heavy to be carried across the gap by Swindon Way.
Evie and Jenny were asked for their professional opinion on oral allergy syndrome OAS. Each of them commented on the credibility and the digital application, or similar, of benzocaine 20% oral gel or the buccal liquid topically applied were noted beneficial in terms of symptom relief.
The Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine, and Prednisone (C.D.V.P.) Protocol. The powers were accorded and afforded to the signatories and human sung songs sell C.D.’s.
“How ’bout the time we went to Dave and Brian’s birthday party at Tuckers Arcade Game and I showed you what broken really is.”
The Affordable Care Act = the “ACA” sometimes aacaahhh and sometimes caw-caw but usually “A” “CEE” “A” spelled out the letters also called “ObamaCare.” “Eh” “Cee” “Eh” Act. This is in the USA and it has to do with the provision of “basic plus” health care “insured services” for all people. So even “people living in poverties” or who “couldn’t afford “more traditional” health insurance coverage plans” that paid (at least in part) for “bells and whistles” health care like emergency MRI next or same day, etc. …so people who couldn’t afford what they called “high skyrocketing price health care plans” would and could receive this “basic plus” = to become the minimum standard of care like “publicly funded from income tax dollars collected by gov” health care and before the ACA the previous minimum standard was deemed “too minimal” and harsh in terms of what someone who couldn’t afford something (the service or product of health care or the insurance and co-pay / partial pay, etc) would get – the data science did support that health outcomes were significantly worse for people below an income of $12,918.98 U.S dollars per year. So the thought and did with the ACA is that 12.91% of public revenue and 9.9181% was state revenue general ledger and the remainder was federal or international “buy-in” because there was some of that, was redirected to the “existing” [we can’t just let people die on the streets or in the ER emergency room department lying on the floor if they have $0 in their pockets on that partic day]. So the existing USA the country budget that was allocated to the “can’t let them bleed out on the subway and have to at least clamp it on the way to the funeral parlor” = $1.9 million dollars existing before and then they added in the ACA top up budget so they would clamp the artery in the subway and also stent it partially on the 3rd floor of the surgery wing of the County hospital and this was done by adding $1.8 million dollars plus $2.1 million dollars over 2.8 more years. The ACA was never fully repealed although it got some pull back not push back and the terms changed to the net effect of: $1.98 million existing what they and we always had to do for civil rights and human rights and dignity and basic welfare and decency and the 2025 year this year what it will be added to the $1.98 million is TOTAL for the fiscal year because WE KNOW THE COSTS and they don’t fluctuate that much when we are dealing with a *.** million figure it will be $2.98 million USD.
1.98 + 2.98.
$4.96 million US dollars in the USA floating budget also actual expenditure health care ACA for the entire 2025 year we are in right now.”
“The return on investment is 6219.918% over 10 years”, they agreed. She asked her to continue on with her speech, now making reference to anything not considered in the >6000% figure.
She collected her thoughts in the moment and then beat-beat-spoke.
“Brick layer. Neighborly beautification like property values. An opportunity called gentrification and that number is a very modest 11.8152% increase over 100 years time added on to the ROI.”
“Is gentrification to fortify?”, she asked.
“Yes. It’s just a different kind of lock.”
“But not a different kind of brick.”
Izzy pulled her chip drop of paper half-fold from the chapeau. “Prison is only for real black men who smoke weed”, Izzy read aloud to her half of the team. “Be it resolved”, yelled the graduating class of vengeance attorney at law. “Nine less months.”
Evie was walking toward the Urgent Care center like hospital near hospice. Her work shift started in just under 45 minutes from this time. The church was across the street and to her right. There were 8 semi-detached townhouses and the gentleman that was hired to scare her saw her walking up through the bay window and he opened the front door and didn’t look to make eye contact, just walked outside and down the 2 front stairs to the pathway and he dropped his cell phone on the ground as it flew from his hands to hit the one main cobblestone pebbled together patio stone glueboard. He leaned forward sheepishly and picked up the phone and he saw Evie out of the corner of his eye. He reached into the pocket of his jersey knit drawstring loose fit basketball-team-basketball-shorts. He fumbled with the fob button and set off the panic car alarm for his rigidly uncovered (safety topless) sport utility vehicle that that he owned lessee proud since the start of the calendar year. Their hoax set up after the scare was made to look like solicitation be detail. The blue hatchback SUV sedan pulled into the curb lane in front of the apartment building. The man driving was Asian in descent and appearance and he slouched down in the driver’s seat, making it difficult to see him from behind or infront of the head rest. The tow-truck turned the corner from the approach to the rear like behind the blue hatchback SUV sedan and the tow-truck was towing a white car 1/2 payload min hooked in and the tow-truck driver flashed the orange beacon through 4 cycles of back-and-forth right-left and then turned them off with the switch never strobe. He pulled the tow-truck and the tow white car into the curb lane driving to enter the one way street heading southbound while watching for oncoming traffic into the same curb lane and also the driving lanes, 2 of them for the 3 lane street overall. The solicitors-trying weren’t expecting the tow-truck to give her such luck at return-reverse-scare tactic. Evie knew how the tow-truck beacon lights would be perceived by the slouched driver looking into the sedan’s rear-view mirror and also to passerby’s and to any, as the case may be, people watching on clear view lampost surveillance camera lengthy.
“Re: Numerical (Value) Calculation – Automated REPORTING of Employee Hours of Work including Break Times. Fraction of an hour calculation
Here is a sample example of a scenario and the calculation that the computerized software system does for us and then lets us know on the timesheet print out for hours worked daily
8 hour 27 minute actual work day based on time punches in the time clock if there is no break taken during the day shift. Here are the exact times as an example hypothetical
Start time of 9:00 am
End time of 5:27 pm
This is close to / near (nearly) an 8 ½ hour work day. If it were 9:00 am – 5:30 pm then this would show up on the timesheet time-card for reporting as 8.50 hours and this is the same thing as 8 ½ hours.
Since 27 minutes is less than 30 minutes (the employee finished their shift accurately at 5:27 pm and not exactly at 5:30 pm), then when there is reporting done on the timesheet for payroll, the 27 minutes worked gets converted to a fraction out of 60 (because there are 60 minutes in an hour)
27 divided by 60 is represented as 27/60 = 0.45
Each full hour worked gets 60 minutes out of 60 minutes and this is 60/60 = 1.00
So the employee’s hours worked are:
8 FULL hours worked
8 x (60/60) = 8.00
PLUS we add in the 27 minute portion of the (full) hour they worked
And 8.00 plus 0.45 is
8.45 hours
This is the number that is reported on the timesheet for an employee that works an 8 hour and 27 minute work shift.
It is NOT the same thing as 8 hours and 45 minutes.
Here is an example of an employee break worked out as a sample example with math styling
The employee clocks OUT for their break and the time punch is at 10:51 a.m.
The employee clocks back IN after taking their break and goes back to work at 11:20 a.m.
The employee took a 29 minute break
This is “nearly” ½ an hour or almost 30 minutes or close-to 0.5 hours.
The actual time reported for the break based on fraction of an hour theory is
29 minutes divided by 60 minutes in an hour
29 / 60
0.48 hours
0.48 hours is not the same thing as a 48 minute break. It is a 29 minute break for payroll.
and it has to be done this way using the fraction of the hour method and this is because the fraction of the hour is used to determine how much a worker paid employEE earns in a day. The fraction of the hour is the multiplier times the hourly wage rate like this
8.00 hours a day x $20 an hour wage = $160 dollars a day
8.50 hours a day x $20 an hour wage = $170 dollars a day
8.45 hours a day and this is representinag a work day of 8 hours and 27 minutes worked x $20 an hour wage = $169.00 dollars a day
and this isn’t an argument “for” or “against” a method of calculation. This has to be done to do earned work and make earnings and to process payroll and for the employEE to get a pay cheque from the “hypothetical” factory employER we are mentioning in this example.”
addendum below this line was added starting at 7:36 a.m. central standard time 02-Aug-2025
where computerized software systems or web apps or print outs from displays read something like this [bipolar]
8:75
and fraction of an hour theory is used in all cases then the : colon “:” between the 8 and the 75 is a literal string (literal character) and the 75 CANNOT represent and it NEVER represents the number of absolute minutes proper (ie. not 8 hours and 75 minutes, it is 8 hours and 45 minutes correctly and this is the same thing as 8 plus three quarters of an hour = 8 3/4 hours) because after 60 minutes, then it would roll over to the category place value where the number 8 is (>60 minutes) and it would become 915 illogical and that’s why computer programmers and software developers don’t set equations with operators like this and there is no script operation alive and running anywhere that “amortizes” the 75 out of 100 so it “doesn’t roll over until it hits 100” and then becomes “fractionated over lengthened longer than 60 second minute time.” [manic]
“I completely understand the problem”, Evie said. “I won’t ask them to graph me a parabola. Please continue on with your story so good.”
addendum added 5:56 p.m. central standard time 02-Aug-2025
if an employee is entitled to a 45 minute unpaid lunch break per workplace policy and local labor law and ordinance,
then here is another hypothetical sample example calculation worked out
employee start time clock in beginning of daily work shift: 8:29 a.m.
employee clock out time for an unpaid lunch break: 12:42 p.m.
employee clock in time back to work after the unpaid lunch break: 1:21 p.m.
employee end time clock out end of daily work shift: 5:07 p.m
the unpaid lunch break is 39 minutes long and logged accurately with a time punch time-clock system
39 minutes / 60 minutes in an hour = 0.65 hours
39 minutes is 0.65 hours
0.65 hours is NOT 65 minutes
Zero-Point-Six-Five hours is NOT 65 minutes
Zero-Point-Six-Five hours is NOT Sixty-Five minutes of time
Zero-Point-Six-Five hours is Thirty-Nine minutes of time
Zero-Point-Six-Five hours is equal to 39 minutes
The employEE in this hypothetical scenario returned from their lunch break 6 minutes early.
They were back at work ON TIME.
They were back to work on time.
They were not 20 minutes late.
They were not 26 minutes late.
They are a model employee.
Here is the cheat sheet for future reference.
0.10 hours is a 6 minute break.
0.166 hours is a 10 minute break.
0.25 hours is a 15 minute break.
0.333 hours is a 20 minute break.
0.48 hours is a 29 minute break.
0.50 hours is a 30 minute break.
0.58 hours is a 35 minute break
0.65 hours is a 39 minute break.
0.666 hours is a 40 minute break.
0.75 hours is a 45 minute break.
0.83 hours is a 50 minute break.
1.00 hours is a 60 minute break.

The facts and figures were explained to the population base and 6,5918 people answered back with a yell yelled back on the reflux report. “We said “amort-eye-ze-deux-deux-deu.” The picketer turned responder was saying the word “amortize” in the “amortized” tense and emphasizing the “d” sound letter at the end of the word “distinctly 3 times.” Adamantly.
“Does the ‘D’ sound have special meaning to you or does the ‘D’ sound give special meaning to the word that you would like to tell me more about?” Jenny asked.
The deux-deux-de woman responder looked around bewilderd and performed “antagonize apologetically.”
“It means past then present then future word verb.”
Her overhearing father was one of the other 6,5917. He piped up next.
“Amorti-ze-deu” is when you hear the word D sound at the end of the word and it’s past tense. For the present tense of the word amortize, she hears the D sound a bit less. For the future particip, she hears the D sound not real at all when it’s said by the person who started the over-the-head rude repeated spoken taught to her.”
Jenny answered and said “and here is an excerpt from today’s Sunday chapter: Time over time itself is not the amortized variable. The term is cost amortization when we are talking about the $1.2 million dollar hectare section of primely located subsaharan real estate
and not the drive-thru vicki college defense fund.”
The manic response from the low-middle-mgmt-standardizers toward the reasoning voices of Jenny, Poppy Elle, Izzy, Evie, and Beyond was that
“The Labor Code says that employees must be given a 30 minute unpaid break after every five consecutive hours of work. We are going to change everyone in the employment world shift to just less than 5 hours so there will be no unpaid breaks at all entitle like this say 8:00 am until 12:59 pm or 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. or 12 midnight until 4:59 a.m.”
Cooler heads prevailed and calmness talked secretly and openly via oral-aural cross-sectional questionnaire.
“If an employEE is at work and if the employER tells the employEE to specifically go and take their 30 minute unpaid lunch break 4 hours into their scheduled 8-hour shift, do you think that the employee should refuse and respond to their boss and say that they themselves the employEE aren’t entitlted to a break yet and that they must wait another 1 hour to go? or did you make a mistake when you said the word “amortize” earlier and you really meant to say that you “thought the phrase pro-rated was a better fit in hindsight now that splain has happened to you” and maybe now you are trying to save face and defend yourself and your not knowing of fractions or decimals by saying if the employee took the break that you told them to at 4 hours into their scheduled 8-hour shift, well, then they should have otherwise known better to wait until 5 hours and disobey insubordinate without told-on and the divisor you mixed up earlier that was actually fraction of an hour concept, you are justifying how you did the wrong math now by saying a pro-rate unpaid break after 4 hours should be a taken 24 minute break and it was a trick to hold the reference letter all along?”

The F2 cabbage was rich in folate. It grew wild across the street from the flower shop and a half block away from Wall & Ellice, there was a billboard sign that quoted Leviticus 5:29.
“It’ll get me to Tylehurst”, is what she thought as she waited by the fountain at center court. The mall was busy for a Sunday at this time of year. The girl sitting next to her was 6 years old. The shopping bags rested on the floor in reflection of purchasing decision. She was watching cartoons en español on the phone handed down to her by her mother. She finished the romaine lettuce chef salad from the to-go takeout container that she ordered on the way up. The air had the thin smell of meningitis humour and new mint herpalgia. Her mouth burned more as she chewed. A 43 year old contribution to know pathognomonic. A sign like Coxsackie Virus B4 CVB4.
Her blood sugar is 4.6 mmol/L and 82.8 mg/dL. The time is 5:05 pm. The fastest route is via I-84 W and NY-81 N. A 2 hour and 15 minute drive time one-way will cover the 110 miles.
The hemostatic clips were surgically sterile. They were constructed of stainless steel bearing the stamp of sealed 81.712% titanium in the alloy. Firm ligation achieved on either side of the torn blood vessel. The ones in the yellow tray labelled “211 Solid” were favorited for this purpose.
The memorial masonry at the cemetery was stone inscribed in an 11 pt font.

Cucumbers from the garden were peeled and then sliced and quartered or sliced like boats. The cherry tomatoes were put on the skewer in between the pieces of cucumber slices. Vinegar on the side was optional. Side salt was optional too.
The Valsalva manoeuvre was the topic buzzing on the Labor Floor that day, or what Dr. Jennings liked to call, “Big Push It. Your turn.” The M. initial before “Jennings” was embroidered on his lab coat in black stitching with serif font.

The invoice packing slip read “dev / fixer” as 2 separate line items. There were 2 opaque white bottles in the cardboard box two-pack. One held the liquid developer. One held the fixer fixative. An ancient method of dark room x-ray processing, employed with hands pushed through the fabric corduroy sleeves. Look on through the orange plexiglass cover lid. Metal clamps pinned to the dot by the edge of the 0, 1, or 2 film. Water bath dips in between. These items had been checked off on the slip and received by the stocker person and put away in the cupboard. Bisect collimate.
He looked like Ryan Jones as he walked across the parking lot. He stumble fell up the curb and coughed. The crumpled bag from the fast food restaurant was wind-blown to the left lane before the traffic signal. The car swerved toward the bag and then away from it. At the next intersection, I turned my head to look at the 3 oncoming drivers who were approaching the red light. I did this because the RPM was still higher than 3107. I know because I heard it.

It was Saturday morning after violin lessons. Back then, the hospital had two ways to go once you went inside the entrance, walking in from the street parking. My dad didn’t have a $50 a month assigned employee parking spot at the hospital and he liked it that way. The emergency room was to the right and we didn’t go that way on Saturdays ever. We would walk diverted to the left toward the courtyard that had a wall made of bricks and the brick wall was inside the hospital like an interior wall. After veering left option passed the entrance, there was a longer-time walk past office doors on both sides of the corridor and there was 1 set of double doors to the side and I didn’t know where they went. This is because I didn’t tell many people that those doors led to the morgue coroner’s office. The place we were going eventually was through a door that went to the medical records office. There were semi-enclosed cubicles there and a place for the doctors to do dictating into the desk top dictating machine for patient discharge summaries that were due by 5:00 pm the next day. There was a 2 way wall with 87 toggle switches made of brushed aluminum near the cubicle seating. When you toggled the switch one way, the word “IN” would light up next to the doctor’s name. If you toggled the ON-IN switch from inside the medical records recording room, the light went on outside the office on the wall near the corridor so that people would know that the doctor was IN the hospital working and where you could find them working their job. The interior brick wall courtyard was dimly lit and the color palette was red-brown and metallic tone. These were the colors of the bricks and the mortar and the name plates attached to the front of some of the bricks with backbone bronze, silver, and gold. It was called the donor wall. Evie’s dad told her this before and he didn’t remind her. There were artificial ferns and plastic palms-growing-planter in flower pots in the corner and in the center of the courtyard room. Evie liked the bit of high humidity air and the smell of artificial ferns and globe planter terrarium.
The plexiglass spinner vending machine was in the galleyway through the doorway off the courtyard. There with lime-flavored cubes of solidified gelatin in a fitting dish and 1/2 of them had 24% whipped cream butterfat on the top and plastic wrap over them with a firm bounce and nice glare. There were salad sandwiches that were the kind with either egg or tuna or chicken and sliced celery hearts and also yogurt with an aluminum foil pull back lid and a metal spoon dispensed from a plastic rack nearby that looked like the whole thing was dishwasher safe. There was a coffee and hot chocolate maker machine there and all in one could do it, but my Dad said the hot chocolate button wasn’t working while I was there.
Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography. “Jenny, what’s that spell?” A 49 year old female patient visits her family doctor (general practitioner-GP) for a same-day scheduled appointment at 11:30 am. The patient is on time and 15 minutes early for the wait. She is polite to the staff and fully insured. The presenting complaint is a 7 day history of severe headache with acute initial onset and a subtle, gradual worsening of symptom over the course of the week. Last Wednesday, the pain was a 4 out of 9 on the pain scale, where 9 is the worst pain you can describe. On Friday last week, the pain was a 5 out of 9. This morning it’s Tuesday and the first thing that the patient tells you in the clinic’s exam room is that the pain is a 6 out of 9. Today. The patient has been taking the over-the-counter (OTC) medication known as ibuprofen, 400 mg liquid-gel capsules orally, one capsule every 4-6 hours since the pain began. Prior to this, the patient was not on any medication. There is no pertinent medical or surgical history of significance. The patient is up to date on vaccinations, including quadrivalent seasonal influenza last October. Why does she have a headache? S.O.A.P. note(s) to start, thus far. Evie and Jenny gave course participants 30 minutes or so of time to accomplish the assigned written task.
Student 1 put up his hand: “If a patient gives the pain score to 2 decimal places, where do you refer them to for treatment of drug-seeking behavior?”
Student 2 interjected subcutis: “You haven’t said for sure how important signalment is and can we change the patient’s age to 4?”
Evie replied to Student 1: “10 Items or less. Checkstand 1.”
Jenny replied to Student 2: “Sure. Does her mother have a headache too?”
Student 2 explained that she had already starting hand-writing the answer to the assignment for the patient who was 49 years old and she was just wondering about ideas and if the age mattered at all and “if it doesn’t that’s fine” was how the conversation ended.
Evie and Jenny continued on with the case report duties after 21 minutes elapsed for time to write. On further history and physical exam findings, the patient had no history of head trauma. Blood pressure (LC) was 156/109 mmHg. HR: 107 bpm RR: 29/min T: 38.0 C. A dilated pupil with grade 4/9 minor reactivity O.S consensual pupillary light reflex and grade 8/9 diminished reactivity direct PLR. Lateral strabismus, sig 8/9 O.S. Ptosis, moderate 5/9 O.S. The clinical year students were asked to finish their record-keeping and submit their individually-done assignments for grading. The class of 21 placed the papers in the collection basket and they gathered their book bags and Jenny put a push pin through the full-scap into the cork board with a dignified orthopneic thrust.

The living room of the childhood home had carpet as flooring. It was on the main floor the same thing as the first floor of the house. There was a fireplace in the living room but they didn’t use it because it didn’t have the right kind of door and screen on it to make sure spark and ash wouldn’t be a problem. The downstairs basement fireplace was the one they used at Christmas time and they would set up the Christmas Tree in the corner closest to the pool room. The pool room was the one with the pool table that had heavy slate and snooker corners. The easter bunny hid eggs by the fireplace on the main floor. The easter bunny came to the living room. Santa came to the basement. The fresh-water fish tank in the living room held 40 gallons of fresh water. There was a harlequin rasbora like sass sarsaparilla and an iridescent shark named sharkie and neon tetras and cardinal tetras and a plecostomus called a pleco. Dad would take water from the tap and fill up a rubber storage container and let the water sit in a tub in the bathroom closet to let the chlorine dissipate before adding what was lost from the fish tank from cleaning and evaporation.
One week removed from the chef salad at the shopping mall, she was back there again. Walking to her car that was parked in the far covered parking lot, north side, lower level under the ramp. She could see the cinema multiplex theatre in the distance. A woman approached her calmly and asked her where the grocery store was. She replied and said “the main entrance is there and it’s easiest to get to if you cross the street at the cross walk by the car wash gas bar. She pointed with her hand gestures first toward the car wash gas bar and then to the main entrance for the grocery store building that had the blue and red and yellow and white sign lettering and shopping cart hook-up awning. The woman questioner thanked her politely and walked on.

“Infectious disease that looks like simple T.I.A.?” said Jenny to Evie, quizzically. “HSV-1 is Herpes Simplex Virus 1 is HHV-1 is Human Herpes Virus 1”, Evie replied while skimming over a research paper that talked about chemical cremation alkaline hydrolysis compared to incineration cremation in a furnace crematorium for human body remains rendering. The pros and cons of each type of cremation were summarized and tabularized and final disposition was touched on in the closing paragraph. The reminiscent odor of povidone-iodine waxed and waned with the plume under the easterlies. They called it the 4:36 a.m. downtown exhaust stream. Povidone-iodine is a skin antiseptic. The smell of antisepsis precedes the opening of the 10% formalin container. Formalin is a tissue preservative. When you smell the formalin fixative you recall the ‘ole days of paint turned excisional biopsy. When you cut out a lump or bump like a mole or mass or jamshidi a bone or large bore needle a piece out of pulmonary parenchyma, then once you have the tissue sample from the living alive patient, you may put the small specimen that you hope is representative of the big picture problem in a jar that contains the 10% formaldehyde and then send it to the lab with a requisition and reasonable thankful request to and for the pathologist to please examine when able and convenient for them any time they can find with such a caseload as they do and provide thoughts and future direction please thank you more dr. sir pathologist and so nice the technician is or histopath proper for slice microtome and section stain and maybe paraffin wax in there a bit too if time allows sweet india H&E. Evie chuckled. “Which pharmacologic drug is highly specific for B2 receptors such that we could classify it as a selective Beta-2 antagonist that causes, or would cause, BRONCHOCONSTRICTION as its main activity?”
Jenny cheered. “Next question. Insulin degludec onset time? Provide the definition of “physiologic pH” and “half life T 1/2″ for a bonus mark.”
Evie ovated. “Lightning round. Phenazopyridine use and indication as a factor to the decrement of one-ninths?”
Jenny kneeled with genuflect. “The technical term for a Class B Subclass 2 device capable of light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation?”
That’s a “BLASTER”, Evie said.
I was on my way home from work. Second leg. I was sitting on the bench at the other corner of Maryland Street. The one with the realtor’s picture on it. The one closest to the Hotel that has the beer vendor across the parking lot from the lobby main doors and the in-room refrigerator and microwave amenity offering. A man approached me, polite in his ways, and asked if he could have the seat next to me. I nodded and said “Yes.” He asked me “Why all the cops?”, making reference to the backdrop of 4 uniformed police officers, 2 cruiser cars, and 1 fire department pumper truck with 4 fireman in suspender-pulled over F.D. t-shirt rubberized turn-out gear conglomerate. My reply was that I wasn’t sure what was going at the cold beer vendor store to warrant the personnel. I asked the man “if you were a writer. An author. A journalist. And had to make up a story about what you think was going on, what would you say? The man thought for a moment. “High blood pressure”, he said. He raised his left arm in the air so there was a bend at the elbow of 90 degrees and the bend at the shoulder was 90 degrees too and his hand was unclenched in a loose fist. “This is where the cuff goes.” He used his right hand to tap the biceps muscle on his left arm, midway between the antecubital fossa and either of the newly named humeral supracondyles, your pick. I agreed that hypertension was reasonable given what I could see from the vantage. The man nodded. “Are you single?”, he asked. “No”, I said with a friendly chuckle muster. I’m a writer. An author. I’m writing a book. A collection of case studies. “What’s the book about?” he asked. “Medicine and Doctors”, I replied. He grinned. “Have a nice day.”
Jenny liked T-ShirtCAD. “That’s my torn rotator cuff. That’s my torn bicep. That’s my double kayak. Now don’t splash me.” Her dad, Harold, looked at his work calendar. “60 minute paddle on September holiday Monday. See you there.”
Jenny like to tell the story about the correction of amblyopia and astigmatism and routine kindergarten-age-classroom vision screening. She wore a patch over the glass of the left right eye side of her eyeglasses when she was 5, but not by the time of her 7th birthday. The patch was made out of a plast adhesive butterfly bandage. The 20/10 was for facial recognition and family resemblance. Frogpile.

The translator was trending and she made it that way from their comments. Her stock was rising like sales at the Las Vegas memento stand. The enemy had redirected material otherwise destined for the violin bow stream. The roman candles had been packed with calcium chloride, orange orange crystals and contagious viral culture. Five days before today in the North, and 2 days before today in the South, patriotic celebrations let go release of star shower. The infectious aerosolized droplets were direct overhead in places where a start time of 11:00 pm local time was unadvertised for fireworks. Now, quick to disseminate unmasquerade.
The annual Caesar, Spud, and Steak dinner gala was a fundraiser for the Hospital Foundation. There was a cookbook contest for auxiliary fundraising and Evie’s recipe was included as an honorable mention. Max’s recipe won 4th place from the staff pool and a 2 page spread plus cover photo corner. Izzy won 2nd place from the talent pool and 2 tickets all-expense paid. Max’s cover photo was submitted on behalf of new Mom and Dad quint-quad and Max was carrying the bassinets and smiling and the hanging pendants spelled out “aged 21 days.” The 9 babies + 2 parents were being released healthy and well from the hospital later that morning and the photo was taken down the hall from the nursery. The photo was taken last December and it was now on the cookbook front page by decision of the selection committee. Izzy donated the 2 won tickets back to the Foundation, the 2 matched 2 more. The ACHOICE charity wasn’t an acronym.
The label on the bottle of D-Penicillamine tablets said that this product wasn’t approved for the chelation of Cobalt-60. The hip waders playing hopscotch hadn’t had arthroplasty a day in their lives. How vicious and pernicious of those heading up the Approval department. The President of the Terminal Ileum branch, however, seemed fine in terms of function and mandate, Jenny thought to herself. She was reviewing the case file belonging to a 71-year old man who died a week earlier. “Inferior Myocardial Infarction” was wrongly entered in the ICD coding domain by the attending I.C.U. physician who saw him 2nd on presentation. The colonoscopy report included 8 still photos and 9 second cini x 9. The colon-rectifying procedure had been done about 20 years ago, after the man celebrated his 50th birthday on a Saturday, and his 26th wedding anniversary the following Thursday. Jenny picked up the phone and dialed Evie’s number from memory.
“عـَن إذن َك”, Jenny said into the tap.
“Aan ‘iznak”, was the cheery response. “She’s right here. Hold.”
“Achtentachtig” was said under the Hold music.
Evie picked up the phone. “Hello friend.”
Of the 68 beds in the Hemodialysis Unit, 3/4 of them were temporarily on secondment to the P.I.C.U. step-down ward called Green Owl. The appointment scheduler pane for the hospital’s practice management computerized software system was reconfigured to accommodate the increase in caseload. Monday White. Tuesday Pink. Wednesday Canary. Thursday Tangerine. Friday Dark Violet. Saturday Khaki-Taupe. Sunday Off. The rolling intake would show timeslots filled-in with the names of dialysis patients 3 times a week for 4 consecutive weeks.
A template was made for the label-maker printer in the Hospital Pharmacy. For adults and those 13 years of age and above, D-Penicillamine was to be given once daily by mouth at a dose of 250 mg total per presumed adult person for the prolonged course of 1-9 months time. For pediatric patients aged 12 years or less, then D-Penicillamine was to be given once daily by mouth, at a dose of 1 g total per child. The prescribed course was to continue for 1-6 months. There was no longer any exposure to the pathological Cobalt.
Evie watched all of the 2 minute 31 seconds. “The neurological behavior of the “maggot” insect shown in this film clip is abnormal”, she wrote in the comments. She was logged in under her usual and real username and handle to the SMW. “The behavior exhibited when the insect is on the stainless steel aluminum alloy smooth tabletop is called “paroxysmal kyphosis.” This is hallmark textbook characteristic of Rift Valley Fever virus.”
Later that same day on that same SMW place with login applied, Jenny advanced the reel passed an abomination to the epiglottis traction device for airway breathing management during a medical procedure and she reported it in a you’re so told on fashion under the category of credible threat to safety.
It was October 1st on the SMW chat. Jenny commented on the thread in 3 lines ore more:

The mandolin on cajon bluegrass tune was being played by the busker who stood across from the duck pond seating area in the park. He was singing the song about the flag called Oh Glory.
“He was chewing 2 aspirin when his wife dialed 911.” The paramedic told Evie. “He woke up with chest pain and he left the bedroom to get the aspirin and then he went and took nitroglycerin, sublingual, and clopidogrel and he gave himself 2.1% transmucosal lidocaine gel per rectum at exactly 3:09 a.m. by the clock.” Evie nodded and placed her stethoscope on the man’s chest. “Pulse is 81. B.P. is stable 132 over 91. Bright alert and talking. Line is in the right hand. Ringers is in the bag. Told me a story about you that I’ll tell you about later.” “I’m Evie and I’m a one of the doctors here at Mercy Hospital”, Evie said as she looked more closely at the face of the male patient laying comfortably on the gurney. She recalled a photograph dated back the 82 years the paramedic spoke about at first.” “Thank you”, she said to the attentive EMT. “Grandpa starter pack was given before transport in”, Evie remarked to Dr. Hemm, who was standing over her left shoulder. “Curtain 1.”
The man at the gym was in in 30’s. He was lying with his back on a flat-but-could-any-cline fitness bench. He had his feet propped up so that his toes were resting on one each of a balanced, side-turned 10 lb free weight. He was doing hip flexor ab muscle training to build circle-round core strength in time for The Luau next Thursday.
On the menu at the The Luau was Miss Shepherd’s Specialty: puff pastry surrounds pulled pork shredded shoulder roast pie, a scoop of spicy mashed potatoes, and mature stem-on carrot topper. Fresh kūlolo was on course for dessert. They heard the DJ playing a song and the lyrics were about the tombs of toa’ and bramble berries and the bodega. Jenny stopped to make small talk with a co-worker near the well-lit stairwell on her way to the dance floor. The co-working acquaintance overstepped with mention of motion the committee was to make next week. Placation is best reserved for the ham and pineapple pie on the mid-fold table, Jenny thought. She sipped diet soda sideways straight parasol and then joined the others near center stage right. She pulled an extra fold up accordion hand fan snapper out of her back pocket. “Where did you buy the fans?” the co-worker yelled from across the room using the 2-handed through-the-hands cupped megaphone technique. “1/4 turn to the left.”
The colors were called teal green jungle cat and jungle cat pink. They called them out by hex code and said H.T. #024a69 and h.t. #930a60. There were nacho cheese flavored tortilla chips from the bag on paper plates. There was apple brioche at the dessert station on a border rim embellished sterling silver serving platter. There was a progressive 9-tier dainty tray with a bar mount style bottle cap opener shaped handle ring attached to the top tier for carrying.
chapter 6.20. The Nursery.
Six burned out LED lights or 45 degrees turned the 833 into the 333 Tyndall. I learned this at the stop just past Jarvis Street and Burrows Avenue. It pulled 4 into the chamber and jammed the magazine on the next action. The effect of a hollow point one time when the 4 were thrown all nearly at once. The try to pull 2 is what set the jam up. An underwritten distributed denial of service. If he read it right, he would have emptied 41.
The picnic started at 4:00 p.m. at the campsite next to the volleyball courts. The DJ man and his mixing board out 2 mains were live. The gas-fired powering generator was set up on the grass. The hamburger patties and hot dogs were ready for relish topping, jalapeño pepper garnish, and a side dill pickle. This is what they liked to call “chancing it” by the bounds of barefoot sand courtside. There were homemade oat bran raisin muffins and slice and bake double-chocolate sugar cookies in the zip-to-close freezer storage bags. There were 2 ladies on the bus who saw Jenny carrying her freshly baked contribution to potluck. The discourse exchanged amongst the 3 was encouraging and enthusiastic. There was a man seated on the bus and there was a reusable faux canvas bag with a department store logo on it sitting on the seat next to him. The bag belonged to the man and it held the sombrero for the Fiesta.
Jenny’s poise and talent and hard work and excellent memory and attention to detail with recall were exemplified during 9 key encounters with patients on the ward as a rotating student. Complex cases, so to speak. The aforementioned and fore-stated were perceived as threats to the promise of promotion by those barely higher ranking than her in year later.

chapter 7.20. The Articulate Goose.
The Ruddy Turnstone was a kind of bird that liked to live in New Jersey. He was a ground-nesting sandpiper shorebird. The hidden camera was hidden in the toy dinosaur and the lens was lodged behind the eye of this BPA-free velocipratorstega model that sat atop the refrigerated nightstand. The hand-painted and anatomically correct formaldehyde-fuming figurine was the same one that she bought on-sale at the thrift store and this was on the same day that she bought the presidentially-ordained coffee mug that had the numbers “2016” scrawled on the side of it. She double-bagged it along with a few others before tossing it in the trash.
The topic of the day at rounds was isoproterenol. Use and indications. A copy of the total body surface area chart was stolen out the hands of a complicit attending physician, on loan to and from the Pediatric Oncology service at Mercy Hospital. Chemotherapy Room #7612 was quiet time at the moment. Evie had been a staff doctor there, consummate with admitting privileges, for a long enough time to garner Attending approbation. The Cardiac Index (C.I.) calculation was first reviewed by the proctor, and then presented to the cardiology internship fellowshires. Cardiac Index (C.I.) equals Cardiac Output (C.O.) divided by total body surface area. Normal C.I. is known to be 2.5 – 4.2 litres/min/m3 and when the C.I. number value is <1.8, then this is consistent with shock condition, otherwise called maldistribution of blood (flow). An official T.B.S.A. acronym in context was voted against and defeated in resolution by the higher-ups for obvious reasons many years earlier. Seventy-two (72) years to be exact.
The presentation projector slide after the “return to slide show tomorrow workflow” read “Macrolides and CYP Enzyme Human Hepatic Hypermetabolic Disease and more: A case study of acute viremia on the ward.”
“Dismissed.”
chapter 8.21
The same group of people who misunderstood premiums and disability insurance benefits, also knew nothing about the unionized workplace environment. A buy in for $6000 a pop was presumed to contribute to a pot that would pay back already paid insurance premiums if there were only a few claims and minimum contributing paycall of the same $6000 would pay worksite employees a payroll budget of up to $50,000 from the dumped in summy. In for 6 and out for up to 50 is what they called it to their followers. “If that were true, who would make up the shortfall?”, Evie asked, innocently. She continued on with her phrasing. “The deficit around this place alone would be more than $1.9 million dollars”, Evie said. “The government health department will pay when we hit rock bottom 0”, Aiden replied. He was the leader of the financier troop brigade. “It’s in the Constitution that they have to help us. If private company employers can’t pay their employees, instead of bankruptcy, we’ll unionize all the failures together and sign contract with the State.” Evie only barely interrupted him before he could start his next sentence. “Which Constitution?” Aiden answered Evie’s question after missing only 19 beats of drawback. “Like Of the People, By the People, and For the People”, he said. Aiden explained further. He used a clarificational undertone with his speaking voice. “The USA government uses the work “LIKE” when they mean “PAY THEM” and the Treasury Branch is obligated if they started this whole thing off in a written down document as famous as the Constitution.”
“There’s a flood happening in Texas right now”, Evie said. “I know”, Aiden replied. “I watched the guy do fake drown during the mudslide. The instructions are to do some Fall Cleaning Spruce Up for a Freshen and THROW AWAY and GET RID of the SNORKEL or SCUBA mask eye goggles from the THRIFT STORE or SECOND HAND STORE or GARAGE SALE purchase.”
“It started with rump-a-pum-pum and they think the number of times the tat-ta is repeated in rat-a-tat-tat changes whether or not a person wants to get ratted out to law enforcement copper and if a person sings a song that has rat-a-tat-tat in the lyrics or if they do beating on a drump and make onomatopoea and it is rat-a-tat-tat that the person says or sounds to, then the same person with the noise wants to be caught in the act with a sting set up and told on and witnessed the fake or minisculing wrong doing to ticket or prison and then the people like overhearing who could lie or catch them doing innocuous things and hyperbolize them then think “it’s ok” to do the illegal surveillance and recording for court of law like mole moling for baby breaks and this happened at christmas when the one who sang first little drummer boy the best didn’t get as much in his stocking or under the tree big prest as we thought and it’s the onomichi is why. The bigger worry is that maybe it would be bigger but no one taught us how to unfold it.”
“Anything else?”, Evie asked. “I told people that my dad was working day and night on this stuff. He never did. He never went anywhere with it. He said I can call it neurodiversity and the kWh cold-coldest knob is in the middle please.” Evie nodded in acknowledgement of the hydro meter reading spin frequency doubled. Aiden continued, “what you read is what I wrote before and I think the diagnosis he gave me is Tourette Syndrome and that clonidine and dextroamphetamine make you well better if you have it as me, and that since he told me the fluoxetine was discontinued, I feel better well still.”
Aiden began explaining “biotickilism and this is what we call it because no one is afraid of us like fear mongering doesn’t work and we tried to look up crossref the things that make twitches and face grimace or spasm happen or jerky moves and what makes people get labelled erratic behavior because we wanted to watch it if it could be done by a virus or bacteria or protozo or toxic chemical or drugdr or something else in the CBRN category. Biotickilists like Community Acquired Manic Immunodeficiency Syndrome.”
Aiden worded the next part as a 2 part CAMIS mudafesto likeso nr'”Jenny has a chip by her brain is what they say. She got it when she was 4 years old plus meenum. Her b.mom took her to get it surgically place”twhen her r.mom wasn’t home for a week because she went to Hawaii and’da keyring fell in the slip by the door of the renter car and no one could see the recarkey they thought sind and Jenny and b.mom went to Atlanta, G for the doctor”w to make a 3 shape incision at the back of her head chcken_skin_thri and then they put a chip in face up and close with purple stictchtch.” Aiden said this as he recount what the internet forum label dx diaxManic said typé. The é was an x as a surrogate diatrical mark, Aiden thought as an aside. “The manics are winn. The manics like rebub. The 8 of them will say they are her half-brobill.”
“I know no one tells you’re manic depressive”, Evie said seriously. Aiden smiled. “We gullibled the rest.”
Evie and Poppy Elle and Jenny combed the greeting card aisle of the department store the weekend before Brynn’s wedding. The 3 girls went in together on the hot tub rental and casino night makeover gift-to-give. There was an “On Your Special Day” section of the riot aisle moment true to planogram. “Congratulations on your Monogamy.”
“Press 2 to return to the attendance.” Jenny selected the 2ABC out of 12 options on the keypad display terminal.

She typed in her 18 character password using only lower case letters.
